Flooring Products
An endless amount of production and options await you with our flooring option. Some of our key elements are listed below.
Low Grade (Cabins, Barns, etc)
Our ‘Cabin Grade’ Flooring
This inexpensive stock competes with others that offer low end flooring – but they don’t usually tell you why it is so inexpensive. This is a rustic grade and quality of product – this stock is a #3 or better grade and it is manufactured in a one step milling process: we mill the T&G directly from our Rough-cut sawmill stock, and thus it will have some variations in width and thicknesses, as well as more bows, bends, cracks, etc. You will have some gaps between the board edges and the butt joints may not come together cleanly. It will require significant additional labor to install: you will need to sand, putty fill, and finish on site. NOTE: Like others that supply this low-end product, and due to varying levels of moisture in the planks, some stock will shrink unevenly, which will result in uneven widths when joined and butted. |
Middle Grade
As profiled above, this flooring stock is a much better quality product than our Cabin Grade flooring. It is manufactured in a two step milling process. We mill rough-cut into a smooth board, then after sorting, we run it through a high speed moulder to mill the T&G. It has much tighter tolerances than our ‘Cabin Grade’ flooring.
The bottom side is milled with the “kerfed” relief, as shown, to reduce cupping and curling issues inherent in all wood types, as well as to provide good adhesion for the adhesives. Our Eased-edge, as shown, is the standard profile NOTE: At this price point we do not ensure that all the planks are dried evenly in moisture content prior to milling, thus there may be small variations (1/16” +) in the final widths of the product once fully acclimated on site. Optional: Pre-sanding and/or Pre-finishing as a clear-coat or stain and clear coat. |
High Grade
We know of no company that goes to these steps to ensure that Beetlekill wood flooring is of the quality you would expect to find at a quality flooring dealer showroom. First, the rough-cut is dried to 6%, then the stock is straight-line ripped to remove curves and bows in the plank. It is then milled to a smooth 4-sided board, and finally it is run through a very high-end, low speed moulder to provide high milling quality and tight milling tolerances. Due to the extras steps taken to ensure high quality, this stock will butt together much more tightly and cleanly than the other lines we offer.
Three edge styles are offered: 1) Eased-edge, 2) Micro-bevel, (1/16”), and 3) Micro-radius. A profile of the Eased-edge flooring is shown above. The bottom side has a “kerfed” relief. Optional: Pre-sanding and/or Pre-finishing as a clear-coat or stain and clear coat. |
